Added 20 September 2026. Julio “Rammy” Parayno III has been mayor since 2019 and was vice mayor before that; Jimmy “Jing” Parayno has been vice mayor since 2019. Sunday Punch called Jimmy the mayor’s “first cousin” repeatedly in 2024 and 2025 but described him as a “nephew” in 2022; the cousin wording is the later and repeated one, and the conflict is unresolved. Rodolfo “Rudy” Parayno, the mayor’s uncle, was Urdaneta’s last municipal and first city mayor, 1992–2001, and died in December 2025 aged 92. Julio Parayno, the mayor’s father, was a councilor, then vice mayor from 2007, lost the 2010 mayoral race and died in office in 2013. The mayor’s son Onofre Julio and the murdered engineer Rene Parayno hold no office and are not shown. In January 2025 the Office of the President suspended the mayor and vice mayor for one year on a 2022 complaint; both were re-elected while suspended and the criminal counterpart was dismissed by the Ombudsman. Other complaints in both directions, including the mayor’s against Governor Ramon Guico III, were unresolved when checked. The governor’s wife, Maan Tuazon-Guico, lost the 2025 mayoral race to Parayno; that is rivalry, not kinship. No source states any relationship between the Paraynos and the Perez family of Urdaneta.
