His children took over the town and its neighbour: Leonardo “Bobong” Flores is mayor, his sister Annette Flores-Balgan succeeded him earlier, and their brother Peter led Masantol. The 2022 election set the branches against each other, with Bobong beating Annette for mayor and his son Vince beating her daughter Bembong for vice mayor. Councilor Albert “Uncle Bet” Flores is reported to be another brother of the mayor and shares the family’s middle initial, but no published source states it. Readers also name Barangay Batasan chairman Edgar “Gang” Bustos Flores as a brother; his current office could not be confirmed, so he is not shown. Annette Flores-Balgan died on 3 September 2024, aged 77; COMELEC’s 2019 returns also show her as vice mayor and her daughter Bembong as the top-polling councilor of that term. The memorial plaque at Domingo Flores’s monument records his mayoralty as 1951–1980 and his death on 8 August 1980.
