Punto’s survey of Pampanga dynasties records Masantol as, for a time, “the domain of Epifanio Lacap and wife Corazon who held the mayorship one after the other”. Their son Epifanio “Boboy” Lacap Jr. served three terms on the municipal council, won the vice mayoralty in 2019 against former mayor Peter Flores, and sits on the council again after the 2025 election. Corazon Lacap was convicted under the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act in 2011 for refusing a business permit, a conviction the Supreme Court affirmed in 2017, and the Sandiganbayan ordered her to serve her sentence in April 2025. Councilor Marcelo “Bajun” Lacap Jr., a former Masantol vice mayor who also sits on the council, shares the surname and the town, but no source states how he is related, so he is not shown here.
