Honorato “Gener” Galvez was mayor from 1989 to 1998 and was killed in June 2000 (an overview’s 2022 date is an error). His younger brother Sazo followed (2001–2002, 2004–2010), then Sazo’s daughter Carla (2010–2013, 2016–2022), Gener’s son Gerald (2013–2016) and Gazo (since 2022), the eldest son of the eldest brother, Fernando Sr. The 2022 and 2025 races pitted cousins against each other: Gazo beat Carla by 264 votes in 2022, and in 2025 he beat cousin Rocky Galvez Sarmiento while his daughter Chariz beat Carla for vice mayor. Readers report that Rocky’s mother is Nora Galvez Sarmiento, a sister of Gener and Sazo and captain of Barangay San Juan, that Zander is Gener’s son and that Barangay Makapilapil captain Jean Tuazon Galvez is Chariz’s mother.
