Re-checked 17 September 2026. Batangas City is the whole 5th district, so the couple have held both the mayoralty and the House seat since 2016. The mayoralty ran Eduardo (1988–1998), his son Angelito “Dondon” (1998–2001), Eduardo (2001–2010), his wife Vilma (2010–2013), Eduardo (2013–2016), his daughter Beverley (2016–2025) and her husband (since 2025). Mariño was a city councilor from 2007 and a provincial board member by 2015 before entering the House. Vilma is Eduardo’s wife and the obituaries list Reginald, Dondon and Beverley as his children; Beverley has called Vilma her mother, but no reachable source says so of Dondon or Reginald, so those two mother links are not drawn. Eduardo died on 4 April 2021, aged 78. Not linked for want of a stated relationship: Councilor Ailin Grace O. Dimacuha (elected 2025) and former Councilor Nestor “Boy” E. Dimacuha, now an executive assistant to the mayor; the Berberabes, whose surname is Eduardo’s middle name; and Vice Mayor Alyssa Renee Cruz-Atienza, whose middle name, Abaya, is Vilma’s maiden name. Eduardo’s brother Ruben, a businessman, held no office. A 2012 plunder complaint against Vilma was dismissed; vote-buying disqualification complaints against Mariño (2016) and against both spouses (2022) are allegations with no recorded outcome; Eduardo denied a 2013 threat claim by the slain journalist Mei Magsino.
