• Bagatsing familyThe Bagatsing family of Sampaloc, Manila, begins with Ramon D. Bagatsing Sr. (1916–2006). He represented Manila's 3rd district in the House (1957–1965, 1969–1972) and was mayor of Manila from 1972 to 1986. Two of his sons, Ramon "Dondon" S. Bagatsing Jr. and Amado S. Bagatsing, became congressmen for Manila's 4th district (1987–1998) and 5th district (1987–1998 and 2007–2016). Dondon later served as ambassador to India and Nepal (2019–2022). In 2026 Mayor Isko Moreno named Amado chair of Manila's Committee on Reclamation. Another son, Manuel, ran for the 4th district seat in 2004 and lost. In the third generation, Amado's daughter Cristal succeeded him as 5th district representative (2016–2022) and has been Manila's tourism, culture and arts chief (OIC) since 2025. Dondon's son DJ has been a 4th district councilor (2010–2016, 2019–present). Another grandson, Don Ramon, was a 4th district councilor (1998–2004) and deputy mayor, and ran for vice mayor in 2004 and 2007.
